Jamie Reid is a journalist and passionate racing enthusiast who writes a regular column in the Financial Times colour magazine. He will be talking about the colourful background to his 2013 William Hill Sports Book of the Year award winner Doped and the follow-up Blown, which was published last year.
Doped tells the incredible true story of a notorious 1960’s race fixing and bookmaking scandal while Blown recounts the life of an extremely brave trainer who served as a secret agent behind enemy lines with the Special Operations Executive in WW2.
The two books are filled with the kind of maverick characters and dramatic incidents that Reid finds so compelling about the Sporting Life.
A ticket to this event entitles you to £5 off supper for two at the Malton Brasserie in the Talbot Hotel on Sunday 9th October (not to be used in conjunction with another offer).
